Cannon Hinnant was the five-year-old child from North Carolina that was executed in broad daylight, shot point blank in the head while he tooled around on his little bicycle with his two young siblings.
His sisters, ages 7 & 8, witnessed the horrific ordeal and will likely be traumatized by this unbearable memory for the remainder of their lives.
The young boy was senselessly murdered by his 25-year-old neighbor, Darius Sessoms, who is black, on August 90th at 5:30 p.m. after returning home from church.
The beautiful young boy laid motionless by his little bicycle as his father rushed out, responding to the percussions of gunfire, Austin Hinnant scooped up his dying child in his arms, helpless, as Cannon bled his last moments on Earth.
A witness to the slaying reported, “Sessoms ran up to Cannon, put a gun to his head and fired before running back to his own house.”
Unlike violent criminal and drug addled troublemaker, George Floyd, who may or may not have expired by the hands of Minnesota police, little Cannon won’t receive any mass protest in his honor. Hard -working Americans, won’t fret their businesses being looted by urban opportunist or vandalized by some anarchist punk, because this young murder victim was white.
On Saturday, the day before the fatal shooting, Cannon’s father had Sessoms over for dinner. Hinnant told ABC News that they shared a beer together on the porch and that Sessoms’ demeanor seemed fine
But he said Sessoms also seemed paranoid about an event that happened Friday night.
“He looked like he had a lot on his mind and I was cooking chicken on the grill so I invited him into my home… We’re supporters of God and I just told him that, ‘God tells us to love our neighbors,’” said Hinnant.
I waited a couple weeks to see if the media would do the right thing and give this tragedy the coverage that it deserved, what a shock, it didn’t.
